Caribbean Christmas Fundraiser

Bethany Beach, DE - The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation (QRCF) announced this week that the ninth annual Caribbean Christmas event will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Mango’s, located at Garfield Parkway and the boardwalk in downtown Bethany Beach. The traditionally sold-out fundraising event features tastings from area restaurants, beer, wine and Mangoritas, live music, silent auctions, raffles, dancing and lots of holiday cheer. “Caribbean Christmas is a festive way to kick off the holidays. It is a great event which embraces the giving spirit of the season with the style of beach living. It is the perfect pairing of party and philanthropy!” said Board Chair Steve Alexander. Proceeds from Caribbean Christmas benefit local organizations each year. In the QRCF’s 12-year history, more than $90,000 has been contributed to other charities. Fundraiser for Olympic Hopeful at Sun Peaks Resort

Vancouver, Canada - Sun Peaks Resort has launched a creative fundraiser for Elli Terwiel, who's bound for Sochi’s Winter Olympics. The resort is challenging donors to give $25 or more to the Make a Champ website created for Terwiel. Each donor will automatically become eligible to win a chance to ski or ride Sun Peaks slopes before opening day Nov. 23.  Through crowd-funding on MakeAChamp.com, Terwiel has been able to raise $10,000 this fall to cover a portion of her Alpine Canada team fees. Harvest Table Fundraiser for Soup Kitchen

Local Jazz Singer Headlines Fundraiser

Waynesboro, PA— A Waynesboro jazz singer, who has recorded two albums and has two more on the way will be singing Saturday night at a nearly sold-out fundraising event for the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library at the Waynesboro Country Club and again from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday on the Waynesboro square as part of the final weekend of this year’s Destination ARTS! Two appearances the same weekend is no hardship for Kerensa Gray, who made the crossover from gospel to jazz five years ago. The classically trained violinist, vocalist and songwriter is developing quite a following in the Mid-Atlantic region with regular appearances in Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Washington, D.C. Bouncathon Fundraiser for Baby Maddie

Willand, Devon, UK - A mom from Willand has organized an unusual fundraising event to improve the life of her baby girl who suffered brain damage during birth. Friends and family of Tim and Kayleigh Bell are coming together this weekend to take part in a 20-hour trampoline ‘bouncathon’ to raise money for little Maddie.  Now 23 weeks old, Maddie was starved of oxygen at birth and undergoes high dosage oxygen therapy treatment in Swindon.  The parents, who also have a young son, need to raise £1,500 to fund the treatment at this weekend’s event at Technical Vehicle Repairs and Servicing in Wellington. www.fundraisingweb.org
