Zumba Fundraiser for Those with Heart Ailments

Gainesville, GA - Since she was a 14-year-old sophomore at Lakeview Academy, Vidya Medepalli had a vision of helping raise awareness and funds for people suffering from heart ailments. To achieve this goal, Medepalli conducted a Zumba fundraiser, not knowing if it would succeed in raising money. Now 18, Medepalli is a freshman at Georgia Regents University in Augusta. Saturday, she held the fourth annual Party Hearty Zumba Fundraiser event at the J.A. Walters Family YMCA in Gainesville. Medepalli, a certified Zumba instructor, said 165 people attended the event, raising $852 in donations for the American Heart Association.  www.fundraisingweb.org

Fundraiser to Rebuild Playground Destroyed by Arsonists

Mount Joy, PA - Mount Joy community members are looking for some Valentine's love this year to help rebuild a playground that arsonists burnt to the ground in 2012.  After the fire destroyed Kids Joy Land playground, a committee of community members took the reins to raise money for the project.  The Kids Joy Land Rebuild Committee raised about half of the $175,000 goal earlier this year, and now it is looking for a boost this Valentine’s Day weekend at one of its biggest fundraisers for the year.  On Saturday, Feb. 15, the committee will hold a Valentine’s dinner, dance and auction at Acorn Farms Banquet Center at 3141 Mount Joy Road.  www.fundraisingweb.org

Golf (Fore) the Library Fundraising Event

Bloomfield,  IN -  Bloomfield-Eastern Greene Public Library's "Golf (fore) the Library" was a big hit Saturday. The fundraising event for the library featured 19 holes throughout the library. Library Director Cassandra Thompson said the event was well attended over the weekend, and they were pleased to see some new faces in the library. The event raised funds for library programs, and the Greene County Literacy Coalition. They hope to be able to host the event again next year.  www.fundraisingweb.org

Student Artwork Fundraiser

Circleville, OH - The Circleville City School Foundation is showcasing student artists in a project to benefit the district’s art education programs as well as other projects and grants through the Foundation. This past fall, the board printed and assembled packets of convenient note cards (with envelopes) created by students whose submitted artwork was selected. Now on sale to the public, CCSF gives full credit to the student artists on the back of each card and then sets aside a percentage of the total profits from sales for the school district art education program. As a result, four different packets of note cards are now available for purchase. They come in separate packets made by high school, middle school and elementary school students and one mixed packet that is pumpkin themed but includes artists from various levels.  www.fundraisingweb.org

Charades Fundraiser

Frederick, MD - Trying to figure out what the answer is in charades is fun, and about 40 participants Saturday combined that fun with fundraising for Gale Recovery.  The event was the first of its kind for the organization. Gale Recovery offers two homes — Olson House for men, and Gale House for women — to help those who have conquered addiction but need help getting back in to the mainstream. The event, held at All Saints Episcopal Church, drew eight teams of five people each, at $100 per team. Each team had 10 minutes to see how many words or phrases their teammates could figure out. The first place team had seven subjects guessed in the 10-minute challenge.  One of the team members said he had never done charades before. "You had three categories — movies, books or songs. Casino Night Fundraiser

Evesham, NJ—The Evesham Education Foundation (EEF) will hold its third annual “Wine, Dine and Win” fundraiser at The Mansion in Voorhees.  The event will feature wine tasting and hors’douevres and desserts from local favorite eateries.  Sixty tables will be set up with 10 to 15 wines and spirits on each available for tasting. There will also be a larger casino floor this year, including blackjack, craps, roulette and wheel games. All attendees will start out with $100 worth of gaming chips. No cash prizes will be awarded; gaming chips will be redeemed for tickets. There will also be silent and live auctions with gift baskets and other prizes.  www.fundraisingweb.org
